How many lessons will I need?
This is the most asked question of any driving instructor. The truth is, we really don’t know. The DVSA state the average is 45 hours of professional tuition with an additional 22 hours private practice. At Oh Savvy we’ve had learners pass in less than half that time and others take a lot longer.
Why are your prices so high?
We’re actually pretty competitive. The industry average is over £40 per hour these days. Compare that to other professions and we’re probably being short changed. Remember, we’ve got a car to buy and maintain and as you can imagine, it gets treated pretty badly occasionally. Music tuition is £50+ per hour, a plumber can be £70+ per hour and a mechanic takes a deep breath before telling you the cost. That said, I wouldn’t listen to someone playing the clarinet badly for less than my body weight in gold!
The youngster next door only pays x amount, can you not do it cheaper?
Sorry, prices are non-negotiable and we believe they’re very fair for the service we provide.
